Lip Blush is the most natural technique in cosmetic lip tattooing. It creates a youthful blush of color to define the shape and make lips look naturally plump and flushed!

Also known as the Aquarelle technique, this method enhances the natural beauty of your lips by subtly increasing the lip size, softly defining the border and flushing the natural color, as well as making any corrections needed to balance the shape. A wide range of colors are available to create a customized color based on your individual skin tone, undertone and existing lip shade.

Lip Blush brings back your youthful blushing tint and enhances your natural lip contour. Simply apply your favorite clear balm or gloss and you’re ready to go!

    • Lip Blush is a 2-appointment process with the initial and the touch up appointments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
    • A touch up appointment is required for completed result and is priced separately at $100.
    • Annual refresher appointments are recommended to maintain optimal blush tint in lips.
    • If you’ve had lip fillers/injections and/or Botox around your lips you MUST wait at least 1 month before undergoing the Lip Blush procedure.
    • If you’ve EVER had even 1 cold sore on the outside of your mouth or on your lips you MUST take the prescription Valtrex or Acyclovir for at least 3 days prior and for at least 3 days after undergoing the Lip Blush procedure. If you don’t, then this procedure will trigger an outbreak that will affect your healing and therefore prevent optimal results.  This is VERY important and so easy to avoid!

POST PROCEDURAL CARE FOR LIP BLUSH

The Lip Tattoo healing process is relatively short.  Days 3 – 5 post procedure, you will experience dry flakey lips.  It feels as though you have been layering matte lipstick on.  Once the pigment flakes off it will appear as though NO PIGMENT has been retained.  Over the next 6 – 8 weeks the color will gradually ‘bloom’ to a lovely soft shade.

Day 1 (day of the procedure)

It is very important to remove the lymph fluid from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing.   Before bed, if the lips still have some dry lymph, rinse with lukewarm water, gently removing the dry lymph, pat dry and apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment.  Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure.  Bruising will subside within 24 hours post procedure.

Day 2 – 7

The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lips.  Keep the skin moist at all times, do not let the lips dry out.  Continue to apply ointment every 30 minutes throughout the day.  Again, do NOT let the lips dry out.

During Day 1 to Day 7  (or until the scabs are gone)

Please Avoid:

Water (on the PMU area) aside from cleaning them
Makeup
Excessive sweating
Sauna
Pools
Sunbathing
Spicy food
Kissing

DO NOT pick the dry lips.

Do not apply anything besides Aquaphor ointment (no Vaseline, antibiotic creams, Polysporin etc).  Following the procedure, do not use creams that contain acids or ingredients that will lighten or exfoliate the skin.  Touchups (if needed) can be done no sooner than 8 weeks after the original appointment.

Is the procedure painful?

Pain is minimal and topical anesthetics are used both before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable.

How long does it take to heal?

Lip procedures may appear swollen, crusty and/or bruised for up to 7 days, but overall healing is very quick and easy.

Does it cause severe swelling?

The area will be slightly swollen for a day or two, but nothing you’ll need to feel like you have to stay home and keep hidden.

Will my healed color look like the color I walk out of my appointment with?

The color immediately following your appointment will be vibrant for the first 2 days and then softens and turns very natural within 4-7 days after the appointment.

Can I have lip injections/fillers and/or Botox with my Lip Blush procedure?

You must wait at least 1 month before having or 1 month after having lip injections/fillers and/or Botox around the lip area before having a Lip Blush procedure.
